My First Science Lesson*

Bella spotted a caterpillar on the patio this morning so we grabbed our resident science expert and made "Cata-Puter" (very creative name) a habitat so hopefully, we can watch his transition to a butterfly.

Pray that the poor guy doesn't die on us - its been a long time since either of us have done this before.
*Update: Cata Puter now has two friends in his habitat. Maybe we just increased our odds at "getting a coom", as Bella says.

Glad the week is over...

What a crazy week!

Monday - take up old floors and discover termites

Tuesday - get termites blasted from the property, flooring installers come and kindly request more grinding be done on some old mortar; dogs go to the vet for semi-annual checkup.....poor Max has a yeast and bacterial infection in one ear on top of his "normal" diagnosis which is hazy eyes, overweight, skin allergies, arthritis, tartar and a heart murmur. Other than that, he's in great shape! Not bad for being 84 years old in people years.

Wednesday - Daddy and BaPa turn the kitchen into a haz mat area for the second time and grind away

Thursday - hardwood floors installed.....and they got it done in one (10 hour) day.......they are fabulous (the floors that is.....well, the installers weren't bad either)

Friday & Saturday - Guess who has a migraine from all of the dust, glue, mineral spirits, termite blasting fumes, etc? Poor Daddy

We are slowly getting things put back together. We are so close to getting this remodel finished!
Here are some pictures of the B from this past week...the girl loves her some swings!

Daddy is just showing off his skills...wonder if this would be great blown up?

So you take all of the books out of the basket, get into the basket and read?

Bella's "bathtub".....the ottoman where her blocks are stored.

Its not the first time I like to sit inside a basket.....here I am at almost 1 year old.

My sweet bald baby! Just this morning, she picked up her 3 month old picture off of our desk and said "Bella has no hair". Bless her heart, it is getting there and is just as fine is it can be. She is going to have hair like mine....baby fine and board straight.

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter Sunday. We think this is the first "holiday" that Bella really got into and excited about. She has been anticipating the Easter bunny bringing goodies for weeks. When we went into her room this morning the first thing she said was "Easter bunny come?" She loved her goody basket. BaPa & RaRa came for brunch and an egg hunt. We had a good time and Bella is still sacked out and it is nearing dinner time. Daddy and pooches are napping too, so it has been a quiet afternoon.

Thank you, BaPa and RaRa for all of the goodies and coming to spend the day with us! We can't wait for a warmer day to put the new picnic table through its paces!

Happy Easter Eve

We have one excited 2 year old on our hands. She cannot wait for the big day tomorrow when the Easter Bunny brings back her Easter basket full off goodies and she gets to go on an Easter egg hunt in the backyard with BaPa & RaRa.

We continue to discover that our child is quite the comedienne. I would highly recommend sitting down before scrolling down to the next picture. I wish I could tell we set her up for this one, but she came on this one all alone.

I was sweeping the floor tonight and she comes up behind me and says "Mommy - see in the mirrror" which is Bella speak for she wants you to lift her up so she can see herself in the mirror. This is what I see when I turn around...

Are you sitting down?

She recently made a piece of artwork at school, a bear, that had "googley eyes" on it. It was super cute, so we taped it to the side of the fridge. It is at her height and she has been taking the eyes off of it for days now and so we now have scotch tape on the back.

You might be thinking what I thought - how the heck are you going to "see" yourself in the mirror?

Happy Easter everyone!

First Annual Easter Egg Decorating

The Girl Has Clearance

Yes, the girl has clothes

Yes, we are still living on concrete floors (new floor being installed next week)

Yes, the girl says "my booty" as she tugs on her panties and the video abruptly stops so we can run her to the bathroom since we thought she said "my poopie".

Yes, when you have a two year old, the words "pee pee" and "poo poo" are an everday conversation

How Do Sheep Eat?

Obviously, a slow day here....this was so out of nowhere and we couldn't help but get it on video.

Easter Goodies!

Bella got up from nap on Thursday to some Easter goodies courtesy of Nana. We have also been getting some great "bunny cards in en-bill-lopes" that she has really enjoyed.

a Dora pillowcase dress

A Bunny coloring book with STICKERS!!

Dora panties

Animal crackers

these babies disappeared in a hurry

a stuffed Peep!?

She also got some glittery butterfly clips. They actually stay in if I clip them to her pigtails. You can just barely see a blue one on the left side here. This morning she is sporting an up-duo with one of the pink clips. We will get a better picture of them soon.

Thank you, Nana - what a great surprise!

Yes, that's right - she is inhaling the cookies a whole one at a time. You could not have peeled the box from her hands.

Muy Bien

Two years and two months old today! Our major accomplishments since turning the big 2 are wearing panties all day and goes to the bathroom unassisted. She is also staying dry overnight. She has been sleeping in a full size bed for about a month now. Her new bed and her crib are in the same room while we get her big girl room ready and she tells us that the bed is "her room" and that the crib is Ruby or Levi's "room". She has been in the Beaver room for about six weeks and is doing great. She is learning new songs, more Spanish and we are noticing a lot more imaginary play. Don't you dare do things for her or she will undo them and redo them herself claiming "Bella do it" or "I do it".

Stand back or I'll turn the hose on myself...

The B is a simple gal - all she needs for fun is a hose and a pair of ladybug boots.

Any guesses who dressed us this particular day?
